Scot Wingo Executive Chairman, Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder
Scot sets the strategic direction for the company, and works closely with the management team to align product direction with market trends. He is an industry thought leader, contributing regularly to several ChannelAdvisor blogs and speaking often at industry events.
Scot received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Computer Engineering degree from North Carolina State University.
Scot has received numerous awards including Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year and Triangle Business Journal’s Businessperson of the Year.
Paul Forte Chief Revenue Officer
As ChannelAdvisor’s Chief Revenue Officer, Paul oversees the development and execution of the company’s global sales strategy including responsibility for customer acquisition, expansion and retention, as well as business development and sales engineering.
Prior to ChannelAdvisor, Paul served as Executive Vice President, North American sales for Monster Worldwide (acquired by Randstad Holdings) where he managed the sale of all Monster products throughout a multi-channel network, including a 900-person direct sales force. Before Monster, Paul was Chief Sales Officer at Automic Software, where he led global sales, distribution, and customer success and was part of the core leadership team reporting to the CEO.
Forte also held various sales leadership positions of increasing responsibility and scope over the course of eight years at IBM, including leading IBM’s then-largest software brand in North America, Information Management. He came to IBM through the acquisition of Ascential Software Corporation in May 2005. Prior to Ascential, Paul served in various sales and sales leadership roles at PTC, eCredit and Nalco Chemical Company. In addition to his civilian tenure, Paul began his career as a US Army officer serving in a variety of staff and leadership positions including service during Operations Desert Shield and Storm.
Paul holds a MBA from the University of Michigan — Stephen M. Ross School of Business, an MSA from Central Michigan University and a BA in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire.
James Huang Vice President and Managing Director of ChannelAdvisor Greater China
James is responsible for helping retailers and manufacturers understand the value of the ChannelAdvisor platform in their efforts to successfully sell their products across multiple online channels and geographies, as well as continuing to expand sales in the Greater China region.
Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor, James was the chairman and CEO of MerchantRun Holdings Limited, where he pioneered channel management software services and subsequently led the company to acquisition. He then became the senior vice president of overseas business development for 4PX, where he managed major initiatives for the group’s five subsidiaries and engineered strategic partnerships with online marketplaces.
James received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
Amy Robertson Vice President and Chief People Officer
Amy is responsible for global HR management, operations and recruiting. With more than 19 years of benefit, compensation, and HR technology experience, Amy leads ChannelAdvisor’s global human resources team to hire and develop top talent for the company.
Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor, Amy served as vice president, global total rewards, people systems and operations at RedHat where she managed HR operations, technology, compensation, benefits, recognition, global expansion and compliance, among other responsibilities.
Amy received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University.
David Spitz CEO and Board Member
David is responsible for leading the company in its mission to provide retailers and branded manufacturers with the software and services needed to successfully sell their products via online sales channels.
Before joining ChannelAdvisor, David founded and successfully exited multiple venture-backed software companies. He was most recently an entrepreneur-in-residence at the Aurora Funds, a venture capital firm with more than $200 million under management. Prior to Aurora, David was president of Avesair, a mobile marketing company that was acquired by Inphonic. Previous to Avesair, David was co-founder and CTO of Netsation, a network management software company acquired by Nortel Networks.
David received a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego.
David was awarded the Triangle Business Journal’s 2010 CFO of the Year Award. In 2008, he received the Triangle Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 award. David has also been awarded four U.S. patents. He has been a chairman of the board for the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics Foundation as well as for the North Carolina Council for Entrepreneurial Development.
Diana Allen Vice President and General Counsel
Diana oversees worldwide legal functions, including regulatory compliance, commercial affairs, M&A, litigation and intellectual property management.
Diana previously served as associate general counsel, assistant secretary and compliance director for Cree, Inc., a leading innovator of lighting-class LED products, lighting products and semiconductor products for power and radio-frequency applications. Prior to joining Cree in 2005, she was a corporate attorney with Helms Mulliss & Wicker, PLLC, a Raleigh, North Carolina law firm (formerly part of Smith Helms Mulliss & Moore LLP).
Diana received a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from Columbia College at Columbia University and a Juris Doctor with high honors from Duke University School of Law.
She serves on the board of directors of the Research Triangle Area Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and is a section council member for the North Carolina Bar Association, International Law Section. In 2015, Diana received the Triangle Business Journal’s Women in Business award.
Josh Christie Vice President of Engineering
Josh leads the global engineering organisation responsible for ChannelAdvisor’s highly scalable software as a service (SaaS) platform. In this role, he works closely with partners, customers and product management to deliver innovative solutions to complex e-commerce challenges.
Before joining ChannelAdvisor in 2006, Josh was a software design engineer at Microsoft and an early member of the team that created Visual Studio Team System.
Josh received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, both with highest honors, from North Carolina State University where he was a Park Scholar.
In 2015, Josh received the Triangle Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 award. Josh has been granted two patents in the areas of distributed version control and e-commerce taxonomy data.
Lance Phillips Vice President of Services, US
Lance oversees ChannelAdvisor’s U.S. services team, including account management, professional services, launch services and customer support. In this role, Lance is responsible for customer success, retention and growth.
Lance brings more than 15 years of customer support expertise. Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor, he served as vice president of customer loyalty at Youth Digital. Additionally, he held customer experience positions at Cumulus Networks and Red Hat, Inc. He has significant international knowledge building and working with customer experience teams in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Link Walls Vice President of Product Management
Link is responsible for driving the roadmap for the company’s Digital Marketing solution. He oversees a team dedicated to working with customers and the engineering team to deliver innovative technology to the market.
Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor in 2005, Link managed online marketing for Art.com, an online retailer of posters, prints and original artwork. Previous to Art.com, Link worked as a management consultant helping companies in finance, strategy and organizational design.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drexel University and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
Mark Cook Chief Financial Officer
Mark oversees global financial operations and strategy for the company. He manages all accounting, internal audit, treasury, tax and cash management operations, financial planning and analysis, long-term strategic planning and investor relations.
Before joining ChannelAdvisor, Mark served as vice president, finance and controller at Red Hat, Inc., a leading global provider of open source software solutions. From 1980 through 2004, he held roles as director of corporate finance, treasurer, analyst and programmer with global textile and manufacturing companies including RJR Nabisco, Inc. and Burlington Industries, Inc.
Mark received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University and a Master of Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Mark Vandegrift Vice President of Product Management
Mark is responsible for overseeing ChannelAdvisor’s Marketplaces solution, extending the company’s global leadership in marketplace management. Under his lead, the ChannelAdvisor product management team is responsible for equipping branded manufacturers and retailers with the features and functionalities they need to optimise their sales and increase their global footprint.
A 15-year veteran of ChannelAdvisor, Mark has served as director of cross-border trade and director of services. Most recently, he served as the director of business development, managing strategic partnerships and exploring new business opportunities that benefit brands and retailers across ChannelAdvisor’s supported e-commerce channels.
Mark received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Melissa Sargeant Chief Marketing Officer
Melissa oversees ChannelAdvisor’s worldwide marketing initiatives, including corporate and product branding, demand generation,digital marketing, public relations, thought leadership and event management. Melissa leverages her extensive background in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for software-as-a-service companies to drive market leadership for ChannelAdvisor’s e-commerce platform.
Melissa has more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience in high-growth software companies. Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor, she served as vice president of marketing for Avalara, a leading tax compliance automation firm. Before Avalara, she was senior director of product marketing at CA Technologies. Prior to that, she held senior marketing leadership roles at Digitalsmiths (a TiVo company) and Guardent (now VeriSign).
Melissa received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and U.S. History from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.
Mike Shapaker Vice President and Managing Director, EMEA
Mike currently serves as vice president and managing director, EMEA for ChannelAdvisor, where he is responsible for developing the company’s local strategy and direction for growth. Mike previously held the position of vice president of brands and manufacturers at ChannelAdvisor, where he was responsible for leading the ChannelAdvisor for Brands initiative. During his time at ChannelAdvisor, Mike has led the company’s Professional Services and Business Operations teams.
Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor, Mike held leadership roles in product management and marketing at Nortel Networks and TheraSim. Mike began his career as a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton.
Mike received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
Paul Colucci Vice President of Sales, Americas
Paul oversees all sales efforts for the Americas, driving a clear focus on growth through the execution of the company sales strategy. He is responsible for generating new business and extending client relationships across the e-commerce industry and across international markets. Paul works with the largest online retailers and consumer brand manufacturers in the world to provide all of ChannelAdvisor’s current solutions.
Paul has more than 20 years of sales, product development and executive management experience with both start-up and established technology companies such as Venda, Thomson and Profound. Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor in 2008, Paul acted as an executive partner for Iconitel Consulting Services and President of Accolade Concepts, a marketing consulting services company. Paul started his career with Northwestern Mutual.
Paul received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Hofstra University.
Richard Cornetta Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer
Richard oversees the global accounting, tax, treasury, SEC reporting, payroll, procure-to-pay and facilities operations for ChannelAdvisor. He also manages the corporate audit and international statutory audit requirements for the company.
Richard has served as vice president of finance and chief accounting officer since November 2015. Prior to his current role, Richard served as controller for ChannelAdvisor from September 2013 to November 2015. Previous to ChannelAdvisor, Richard was employed by Dex Media, Inc., a public company providing local marketing solutions, as the director of financial reporting and accounting. Prior to Dex Media, Inc., he served as senior financial reporting analyst at UST Inc., and as a senior accountant with Ernst & Young.
Richard received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting (Cum Laude) from Iona College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a fellow of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Richard is also a graduate of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Raleigh program.
David Spitz CEO
David Spitz serves as ChannelAdvisor’s CEO, and joined the board of directors in 2015. Before joining ChannelAdvisor, Spitz was an entrepreneur-in-residence at the Aurora Funds, a venture capital firm, from 2005 to 2008. Previously, from 2000 to 2002, Mr. Spitz was founder and chief technology officer of WindWire, a mobile marketing company that was acquired by Avesair, where he then served as president until its acquisition by Inphonic in 2003. Mr. Spitz received a B.A. degree in computer science from the University of California, San Diego.
Janet Cowell served from 2009 through 2016 as the Treasurer of the State of North Carolina, the first woman to hold the office. From 2004 to 2008, she served as a North Carolina State Senator, and she served on the Raleigh, North Carolina City Council from 2001 to 2004. Earlier in her career she worked with Corning Inc., Sibson & Co., SJF Ventures, HSBC Holdings plc and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. Ms. Cowell received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business as well as a Master’s in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania Lauder Institute.
Joseph L. Cowan
Joe Cowan has served since October 2013 as the president and chief executive officer of, and since November 2013 as a director of, Epicor Software Corporation, a privately held provider of industry-specific enterprise software. Prior to joining Epicor, he was president of DataDirect Networks, Inc., a privately held data storage infrastructure provider, from June 2013 until October 2013. He served as president, chief executive officer and a director of Online Resources Corporation, a publicly held provider of internet and electronic finance services, from 2010 until its acquisition by ACI Worldwide in March 2013. From 2009 to 2010, Mr. Cowan served as a consultant with Vector Capital, a venture capital investment firm. He served as chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Interwoven Inc., a publicly held provider of enterprise content management software, from 2007 until its acquisition by Autonomy, Inc. in 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Cowan served in a variety of other executive management positions with companies including Manugistics Group, Inc., EXE Technologies, Inc., Invensys Automation & Information Systems, Wonderware, Texas Instruments, Eurotherm Corp. (now part of Invensys), Monsanto, and Honeywell Information Systems. Mr. Cowan currently serves as a director of Nice Systems, a publicly held provider of internet-based data solutions. He previously served as a director of Blackboard Inc., then a publicly held software company, from 2007 to 2011. Mr. Cowan received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and an M.S. degree in engineering from Arizona State University.
Marc Huffman has served since November 2016 as senior vice president sales for the NetSuite Global Business Unit of Oracle Corporation. He served as the president, worldwide sales and distribution of NetSuite Inc. from 2014 until its acquisition by Oracle in November 2016, and previously served as its senior vice president of North American Verticals, Channels and APAC from 2010 to 2014, as senior vice president of sales, North America from 2008 to 2010, and as vice president of sales beginning in 2003. Before joining NetSuite, he served as group sales director at Oracle Corporation from 1996 to 2003 and as a sales manager at Hayden Enterprises from 1995 to 1996. Mr. Huffman received a B.S. degree in business with emphasis on marketing from California State University, Chico.
Scot Wingo Executive Chairman, Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder
Mr. Wingo is Executive Chairman of ChannelAdvisor, and has served as chairman of our board of directors since our inception in 2001. Prior to founding the company, he served as general manager of GoTo Auctions, chief executive officer and co-founder of AuctionRover.com, which was acquired by GoTo.com, and as chief executive officer and co-founder of Stingray Software, which was acquired by RogueWave. Mr. Wingo received a B.S. degree in computer science from the University of South Carolina and a M.S. degree in computer science from North Carolina State University.
Tim is our lead independent director and the former chief operating officer for Red Hat (Nasdaq:RHAT) the world’s premier open source and Linux provider. As COO, Tim used his insight to accelerate the momentum of open source and expand Red Hat’s worldwide business, service and support operations. Prior to Red Hat, Tim was senior vice president of worldwide sales at Seattle-based Visio Corporation, where he was instrumental in growing the company from a start-up to a public company that was acquired by Microsoft for $1.5 billion.
Tim held the chief financial officer position at Blackbaud (NASDAQ: BLKB), a SaaS provider to non-profit organisations, before retiring in 2011. During his tenure, which lasted over a decade, Tim played a significant role in BlackBaud’s financial reporting, human resources and legal operations, and led the company’s initial public offering in 2004. In addition, he drove record growth at Blackbaud and headed a number of key acquisitions. With expertise in financial management, Tim has served on several boards such as PROS Holdings, Inc., ROS Revenue Management and ManageIQ, Inc. Tim’s prior roles include executive VP and CFO at Holiday Inn Worldwide as well as CFO of Mynd Corporation. He holds a B.A. in business from the University of Northern Iowa.
