A Quick Start Guide to eBay Promotions Manager
Are you looking for a new way to grow your eBay business? Consider running a promotion with eBay’s Promotions Manager tool!
Before you decide on the type of promotion you want to run, establish your end goal. Are you interested in increasing cart size? Or would you like to increase your AOV (average order value)?
eBay offers five different types of promotions:
- Order discounts
- Example: Save 15% when you spend $50
- Codeless coupons
- Example: Extra $10 off
- Shipping discounts
- Example: Free economy shipping on orders over $50
- Sales events
- Example: Save up to 70% on boys’ shoes
- Accessory discounts
- Example: Buy a camera, get 20% off select accessories
Due to their flexibility and variety, order discounts are the most popular.
Order discount promotions can also be set up seamlessly within ChannelAdvisor. To get started, navigate to eBay in your ChannelAdvisor Marketplaces, and then drill down to the optimisation level to create your promotion.
You can select one of three types of order discounts:
- Example: Buy 1, get 1 at 10% off
- Example: Get 10% off on orders of $50 or more
- Example: Spend $100, save $10
First, you’ll need to name your promotion, as well as assign a start and end date. Then you can dive into the details.
When you are configuring your promotion, the Examples table will show you the calculated discount buyers could potentially receive. This can help you get an idea of what to expect for each configuration option you select.
After you finalise the details, you need to assign products to your promotion. Product assignment may involve a subset of your store or your entire store. You can manage this step through one or a combination of the following steps:
- Create a new label and apply that label to the items you want to promote
- Filter by specific brand(s)
- Assign specific listings using the open listings view
Our platform also allows sellers to add criteria, and we’ll automatically add or remove products that meet the criteria to the campaign. Be sure to save your changes before exiting the application. When the start date comes around, your promotion will automatically go live.
